An exciting and unusual vacancy has arisen for a Development Manager (Broker Consultant) to be responsible for generating new business for one of the UK’s largest and best known insurance and financial services companies. You will be required to service an existing panel of IFA’s, appointed representatives and financial advisers in Europe. Based from the UK, you will be required to deal with some enquiries over the telephone, but you will also be required to spend approx. 1 week a month in Europe, meeting your clients and ensuring that they are receiving a first class service and that all issues are dealt with appropriately. As you will be dealing with introducers in Europe, the business you will be dealing with is mainly offshore investments, so a good working knowledge of investments, especially offshore would be extremely advantageous. As well as servicing the existing warm panel of introducers you will also be required to develop new intermediary relationships in the territories that are allocated to you, which will include research into new distributors, initial contacts, and the formation of a business relationship. You will be required to maintain relationships with distributors or direct clients and also facilitate a quality service to these customers from initial contact through to quotation and finally the sale of products. To assist with marketing initiatives, both at a company and local level. You will provide feedback on product development/marketing/underwriting on sales strengths and weaknesses in our chosen markets when observed. You will also undertake and assist in Company projects as required to meet changing business needs Applicants applying for this vacancy must ideally have experience and successful record in intermediary sales, however, applications will be considered from applicants who are working within the IFA market and are disciplined and experienced in working from a home base. It is essential to have a high degree of interpersonal/negotiation skills, as well as a detailed knowledge of financial services including full knowledge of commission and administration support for the various products. You must have a high degree of interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to interact at more than one level and have the commitment to travel and work away from home. You will have excellent sales, presentation, organisational, time management, negotiation, key account and relationship management skills and the ability to manage conflict in a constructive manner with an emphasis on gaining a win-win solution Salary £25k to £50k plus car/car allowance, BUPA, Non Cont Pension, bonus OTE £80k to £100k
