Job Description

Our client a friendly society offering a broad range of Financial Services products and services are seeking an experienced Technical Services Officer to join their team in Bournemouth. You will deliver product specifications and formal documentation, and review product development initiatives designed in other departments, to ensure that there are no legislative or regulatory breaches. Responsible for delivery of new and existing technical projects, self- managing without recourse to senior expertise, to deliver complex technical content across a broad range of diverse projects. Monitor, assess and contribute to the internal communication of Government and regulatory proposals for change to ensure that functional areas (sales, marketing, administration) fully recognise their need to react to such change, in order to meet the new requirements in a timely fashion. Contribute to a broad range of technical and regulatory input required for both internal and external media. Provide technical expertise for distribution channels, to enable them to deal effectively with customer queries and problems.

Prospective applicants will have extensive and detailed knowledge of the operation of personal pension and occupational pension; financial services regulation and in particular, FSA rules; and the financial services market. You will be confident and effective at managing the resolution of technical issues with line management, without needing recourse to other members of Technical Services. A proven ability to work under own initiative in a proactive and regulatory style is requires. The willingness to work autonomously, in an "expert" role, and take responsibility for specific projects, working without continuous supervision is essential, along with proven significant experience in the industry in one or more roles including administration, product development, sales and marketing support and systems development. The FPC qualification is desirable and if a professional qualification is held, this will be AFPC, A/F CII or A/F PMI or equivalent.
